tabula rasa

We finally settled into our new home for the year. Studio apartments have been rising in price especially since there are several new high rises that are up and coming in areas that are still developing. The convenience of being much closer to school and work are worth it, though.

My skin has been really dry lately due to the change of weather from humid and hot to breezy and cool, especially when it gets dark. Blueberries help circulation and in effect, help your skin glow. They also contain several antioxidants (anthocyanins) that protect your skin from harmful free radicals that can cause the elasticity in your skin to decrease. I've been putting blueberries in my morning smoothies this past week and eating them by the handful. My skin is still a little dry but it's multiple times better than before. No need for product with chemicals to try to fix it- for now.

chapter ii

I met up with a close friend of mine after nearly half a year of not seeing each other and hung out at yet another teahouse

We spent nearly five hours eating and catching up. Five. Hours. EATING. (And catching up).

no decaf allowed

You drink black coffee in the morning because black is your favorite and the taste matches the aroma, the color, your mood. It slinks to the back of your throat and it stings. You wince once. And you do it again. Over and over. You’re tired and all you can think of is sleep because sleep requires the least work out of everything else, including drinking coffee. But you pick coffee over sleep because it wakes you up from the heavy and dark slumber you’ve been in denial about being in all your life.

not-so-guilty

she's like smoke;

"She's like smoke; you think you're seeing her clearly enough, but when you reach for her there's nothing there." -Ryū Murakami

 Maybe it's from my experience with film, but I really enjoy double and long exposures, as well as black and white over color. Just had some fun playing around with my well neglected camera.

light at the end of the tunnel

2013: A new year, an improved sense of self. It's been a long journey of internal as well as external battles that have been conquered and put to rest, making room for new challenges to overcome. Let myself see the light and maybe I will find beauty in more than what is, too.
